This Weeks Christmas Card - MFT BB Cool Days

For this weeks Christmas card -
almost didn't get done -
but .... I pulled it out just under the wire.

I used the MFT - BB Cool Days

Here is my Card ....

I had this cute little polar bear coloured already -
so I just needed to find co-ordinating paper,
then I stamped the ice chunk and the sign.

I used the snow embossing powder on the top of the ice,
and the snow section of the sign.
I used glitter embossing powder on the face
of the ice & the face of the sign.

I also added glitter powder tot the snowflakes
inside of the card as well.

That's it, my quick Christmas card.

Here are a few cards I came up with:

I always colour more images than I need!
then I can play around with the look of the cards,

Here is the one I like the best.

I layered black under the chickies -
I like the shadow effect.

Here is card two,
more of a muted pastel.

and card three, it was just fun.

All of the cards are the same on the inside,
just different colours.

Here are a few process photos.
recently when on other blogs,
I really enjoy the process shots so I am going to start
to add more of them for those who like them as well.

Thanks for stopping by to see my cards-

... of course I added dimension!

and here is the inside - I really liked this sentiment for the image
 - but it just didn't fit nicely on the outside.

Simple Stories - We are Family Layout

I truly love the Spring & Summer months,
not just for the weather but because those
are the months when all of my family are together.

When Simple Stories came out with this line
I needed to get alot of it.

This was a highschool ans is now a part of the
Lakehead University Campus.  It is a historical building so
it will always be here.

Summer Days Layout - Simple Stories

As much as I love to make cards -
my first creative passion has always been layouts.

One snowy day last week I sat all afternoon
& made layouts.  Here is one.

I used Simple Stories Summer Days

This is a park close to our house.
It is beautiful & can be very warm from the dark rocks or
very cold from the swift flowing river.

I love the simple colours and design of this line.
I also have the ephemera pack.
I really like these pieces,
it makes finishing a layout so easily.
I have always likes enamel dots.
They add just that right pop of colour
& interest to layouts.

Thanks for stopping by to see my nice sunny layout!

Happy Friday all -

I am back with my Christmas card for the week -
It is pretty plain but it is done - non the less!!

I still have the Sketch N Scrap sketch on
my desk, I think it subliminally was in my brain as
the card looks more along the lines of the sketch
& less on what I was planning on making...

Again it is complete & in the done pile!!

Here is thier sketch

and you can play along with them HERE

Here is my card

i did have teh flag going all the way across the bottom
just like the sketch but it just didn't soot it,
so I gave it a little snip & tada ...

Thanks for popping by - Have a great weekend!!

MFT Colour Challenge

I am back to share a colour challenge from MFT card Challenges

You can play along HERE

They have new sketched and colour challenges
for you play along with,
when you link up you have a chance to win
a gift certificate from MFT!!!!

here is the colour swatch for this week :

I am going to stay with my son's billet family for a few days -
so I wanted to make a card - here is what I came up with.

It has been along time since I made a shaker card &
I had so much fun - Only problem was I added finer glitter
when filling the shake - DO NOT do this -
I worled so hard on my background and you can barely see it!!

In the shaker i added 3 coloured shells,
 6 pink sequence & 6 blue sequence &
fine glitter - ughhh.
You can see a bit of the long green seaweed,
the pink enmity & a school of fish if you look closely.

Here is my cute mermaid.
I had stickles on her before I added the glitter to the shaker.
I little to much glitter altogether??
The ink blue ocean was my blue for the challenge - now she is.
Her hair is the yellow.

Here are my cute clown fish & sea turtle,
they make up my orange & green for the challenge.

Here is a close up of my sentiment.
It is from another set of stamps,
but it works perfectly  for what I need.

Thanks for stopping by -
please feel free to leave a comment,
they are always appreciated.

MFT Space Explorer Card for Challenge

Hello all - well I have a cute card to load
for the MFT Card Sketch Challenge -
You can find their sketched and play along here :

Here is the Sketch for this week

This week I used the MFT BB Space Explorer  Stamp set.

Image result for MFT astronaut

I chose this set because as I was flipping through
my sets with the sketch in mind - the planets instantly became
the circle embellishments!

Here is my card for the challenge

I really like the way this turned out -
The astronaut has grey wink of Stella on his suit,
just to jazz him up as this will be a card for my son.

His face shield is crystal effects for it super shinny.
I tried to take a photo with a bit of glare so you could see it.
The photo below really shows this.
He also has some on his chest patch.

The planets all have a little wink of stella as well,
just enough to make them a little more interesting.
It doesn't stand out a ton but you can see it in the moon craters above.

If you have seen my cards before you know
I break out the pop dots and get
some serious elevation on some items.
I love the feel they give the card.

The background I inked with my distress inks,
Peacock Feather, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint,
Blueprint Sketch & Chipped Sapphire.
Once I had a blended background, I misted it with
the Mini pulverizader spray bottle.
It has a nice fine mist.

The little window on the rocket is also
crystal effects.  I love the cord that
supplies the astronaut oxygen and ties
him to the shim.
I twisted it  - so it strands up a bit.

Well that's my card for today!!
